As of 2008 it appears Sofa Cinema no longer do games rental, the final Lovefilm affiliate to have dropped this function. Nonetheless, we'll keep this review up for posterity.

Sofa Cinema is yet another affiliate of Lovefilm and is mainly, as the name implies, a DVD rental company who is now offering games for several consoles as well. Their affiliation to Lovefilm has advantages in that their range of titles is good, but as with most affiliate sites, the original is best - not just in site design, but often in quality of service, but at the same price.

Lovefilm are currently offering games for Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PS3, Wii, and Gamecube. They have a surprisingly large catalogue of 3,100 titles, equivalent to the big games-only rental companies, of which there are 1600+ game titles for PS2, 100+ for XBox 360, 100+ for the Wii, 700+ for XBox and 300+ for PSP, GameCube (400+ titles) and PS3 (80+ titles so far).

We recommend that if if anything about Sofa Cinema tempts you and its a games and movies combination package that you're after, we would recommend going with their parent, Lovefilm.

Prices: There are just two packages to choose from: 2 games/films at a time for £14.99 or 3 for £19.99. Their parent Lovefilm had much better deals, starting with the cheapest game rental by post tariff in the UK, only 4 quid.
