Games to Go went out of business, but we're keeping this review as it was for posterity.
Amongst the things to recommend Games to Go are a well thought out website, a reasonable catalogue of hundreds of titles, and a budget membership price plan.
The recently improved website includes games charts for each console, so you can see what's hot at the moment, a coming soon section, as well as new arrivals, a forum, full descriptions of each game, and the opportunity to buy new and ex-rental games.
Games to Go allow you to download instructions/manuals from their site, but only to the games you have currently rented. They recommend you keep at least ten game rentals in your queue (called GameQ on their site) and allow up to ninety.
The forum is still quite young, but is, to our knowledge, one of only two hosted on games rental sites and does allow direct access to Games to Go's customer support in addition to other users.
Prices: Games to Go offer a budget membership option that limits rentals to just one game a month but at a bargain price of 7.99. This is a good option if you're too busy to need more than one game a month but would still rather rent than buy. It's also ideal if you like to play a game a few times, or for longer running games (be sure to choose your one selection carefully), without the pressure of feeling you need to rent more games to get value for money from your subscription. Notably though, Boomerang offer a similar budget option that allows two rentals per month for the same price.
Games to go also offer the industry standard packages of 1, 2 or 3 games at a time for standard prices of £9.99, £14.99 and £19.99 respectively.
